I’ve been thinking about attending a couple classes and getting a certification of some kind, so that I can find a better job. Among these ‘certifications’ is PMP (project management professional), but I’m not quite sure what a certification in project management would enable me to do.
Project Management is a challenging career and with certifications from PMI in project management you can get high paying jobs in your field of interest. You can do certification based on your experience (beginners to highly experienced), certification can be done for different industry verticals like construction, health, IT, etc.
You can check the website: http://www.pmi.org/Certification.aspx
Here you can get all detail; you can do this from your place, call them.

Why does Ron Paul continue on as Republican when that party keeps ditching him?
Following the most recent presidential debate, Fox News asked its online audience to pick the most likely candidate. Paul placed first with nearly 25,000 votes, putting him ahead of both Romney and Perry. Within hours, however, the results of the poll were censored. Paul has continued to remind the voting public that he is consistently within that top three, however, despite the mainstream media’s attempts at putting him in lower placement.

The mainstream might not consider him a top-tier candidate but his fanbase knows the truth.
Sure enough, more Americans are learning that Republican presidential hopeful Ron Paul is a likely choice for the GOP come 2012, and his influence now has the other candidates running scared.
On Friday Ron Paul’s campaign spokesman revealed that the congressman’s campaign for president has managed to once again rake in millions of dollars in campaign contributions, and expects that figure to exceed $5 million by the time the campaign has to file paperwork for the third quarter. While that figure might only be a fraction of what Mitt Romney’s campaign has raked in, the ideals held by Paul and rarely touched upon by the other Republicans — such as ending unnecessary overseas military operations and abolishing the Federal Reserve — are hitting home remarkably hard with Americans, especially in the wake of the ongoing economic crisis.

I am currently a sophmore in Industrial and Systems Engineering and now I am thinking I might be in the wrong major. I want to be a project manager working in a city and make a significant amount of money. Something like Justin Timberlake’s job in "Friends with Benefits". What major should I choose? Should I stay with industrial or transfer to something else (business management)?
I’d say it depends on whether you want to be a manager in Industrial and Systems Engineering. Having a background in a particular field can really be a big plus for managing projects related to it. In some cases, it’s a must. You could get a minor in business management if this is what you’re looking for, while keeping your major.
I’d determine what industry you’d like to be a project manager in and talk to one of your professors who has experience in the field. Then I’d look at getting a major in either business or the particular industry and a minor in the other, depending on what your professor suggests.

Try finding a torrent for the book, that might be helpful. Else you can’t get just the cd, you’ll have to get the book itself as well.

Welcome suggestions from management practitioners, which course do they recommend for an individual interested in
1. software project management,
2.requirements analysis and design
The individual has been practicing project management in mobile applications development from past 4 yrs. Please also suggest, do these courses really add value in one’s knowledge and career path.
Project Management Professional (PMP) and PRojects IN Controlled Environments 2 (PRINCE2) are two well known project management certifications.

With new technology continuously surfacing, more and more jobs are being taken over by machines of some sort. In the case of managers, if they don’t stay one step ahead of the game, the same may happen to them.

changing life through management…..
Depends what you plan to do with it. The top b-schools require a high GMAT and 3-5yrs of good work experience. Also, what do you plan to specialize in w/ your MBA i.e. finance, mgmt, marketing, etc…
In general, find what you are really passionate about and leverage off what you’ve done at work & undergrad with that MBA.
Good Luck.

I am looking at Buying a condo. However the management is bad. So bad that people are cutting down their asking price way below market value. How long can it take for management to get it act together or change key people?
Is the management company bad, or is the board of directors bad? Either can be changed quickly by the owners if they care about their condos.
