can anyone highlight the differences? i know i/o psych is more personnel centered but i’m interested in the company practices/processes side.
which is more lucrative? which has the better outlook? which is growing faster? are they different in terms of stress on the job or similar?
are mba’s more valued by companies than PhDs in business psych?
if anyone is working in either of these fields, what do you like/dislike? what is your typical workday like? job satisfaction? salary and benefits?

With an I/O Psych background you’re probably going to end up working in house. However, I know a bunch that have moved on to consulting companies because of fatter pay checks.

An MBA is great if it comes from the right school. You’ll have to work hard, but a top-school MBA opens a lot of doors and there really isn’t anything in the business-world that you can’t do by layering additional skills on top of an MBA foundation.
