Micro-narratives for Knowledge Management

Cognitive Edge founder Dave Snowden first suggests that organizational storytelling has major issues at the moment – both in terms of ethics and practice, which many knowledge management practitioners are not addressing. He then talks about how knowledge is conveyed as micro-narratives, not as best practices. As an example, with regards to learning from a difficult project, Dave feels that blending a dozen or so micro-narratives from a diverse set of people is a more pragmatic and effective approach, rather than formulating a one-dimensional best practice.
